2013 Georgia Open Collegiate Team Chess Championship

  • One fee for the entire team. Must enter at least 4 players with a maximum of 6 players. This is not a rated tournament - you do not need a USCF ID to play (and can leave that field blank on the reg. form)

2013 Georgia Open Collegiate Team Chess Championship


The Georgia Chess Association (GCA) is sponsoring the annual Georgia open college team championship at Emory University on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Our location in Winship Ballroom comes thanks to the support of the Emory University Chess Club. Recent participants have included Emory, Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, University of Georgia, Berry, Albany State, Mercer, Elon (NC) and Clemson University (SC). This event is appropriate for all skill levels.


College Tournament Basics: 4-board team format, not USCF rated, G/45 time control (each player has 45 minutes), 4-round Swiss System pairings (all teams play four rounds), first round pairings posted at 9am, round times 10-12-2-4, awards ASAP.


Entry Fee: $60 per college team. 


Registration and payment deadline is Thursday, February 14, 2013 (extended from 2/12). No on-site registration or payment. Early communication by participants will assist in planning and is appreciated.
