Five rounds, Swiss System, USCF rated.
Two sections:
Open (1400+): Open to USCF rated 1400+. Reserve (U1400): Open to USCF rated under 1400 and Unrated. Sections will be assigned based on players’ Regular ratings published on official USCF website (https://new.uschess.org/player-search). All participants must be registered members of US Chess Federation. Membership can be applied for on-site. Membership cost for USCF depends on age ($20-40) and is separate from the registration cost of this tournament.
Prizes: 100% of the proceeds go to the winners. Prizes are based on 40 registrations. Open: 1st $300, 2nd $240, 3rd $144. Reserve: 1st $240, 2nd $180, 3rd $96.
Time Control: G/30, increment 0, USCF dual-rated (Regular and Quick).

Schedule: Saturday, April 20th, 2024, 10am start. On-site registration ends at 9:45am. All players, including pre-registrants, check in by 9:45am; call/text if going to be late.
Rounds: 10:00am, 11:15am, 1:00pm, 2:15pm, 3:30pm.
Byes: 1/2-point byes available. Must request before 9:45am. 0-point byes available any time for any round.
Equipment: Players are encouraged, but not required, to bring their own chess clocks.

Georgia Chess Association offers the least expensive way to join the United States Chess Federation! Scholastic memberships are $20 when purchased directly from USCF, but we’ve used our bulk rate to get the prices down to $10. Scholastic memberships are valid for players under 21 years of age.
Each membership is good for 12 months from the time of the activation. USCF memberships are required to participate in USCF rated tournaments.
