Chess Zone February Slow Play Saturday

Three rounds, Swiss System, USCF rated. $1285 in prizes, 50% guaranteed

Three sections:
CHAMPIONSHIP (1600+): Open to USCF rated 1600 and above. 1st — $400 2nd — $200 Top Under 1800 — $75
RESERVE (U1600): Open to USCF rated between 1000 and 1599. 1st — $200 2nd — $100 Top Under 1300 — $50
BOOSTER (U1000): Open to USCF rated under 1000 and unrated. 1st — $100 2nd — $60 Top Under 700 — $50
One ‘special’ Top Senior Prize:” $50.

All players’ official ratings will be used per the USCF rating supplement for the tournament month. Section will be assigned based on player’s rating. Players may play up if rating within 100 points of the section requirement. Prizes based on 50 registrations. Class prizes based on ratings as described above. Unrated players eligible only for place prizes. If unrated, live USCF ratings in any category may be used. Unrated players may be assigned a section by TD. Sections may be combined at TD discretion. Accelerated pairings may be used at TD discretion.

Entry Fee: $50, if received by Jan.26; $55 at site. Free entry for (W)FMs, (W)IMs, (W)GMs – entry fees deducted from prizes. Registration ends 9:30am. Field limited to first 50 entrants.
Schedule: Rds. Sat 10:00am, 2:00pm & 6:00pm
Time controls: All Rds. G/75, inc. 30
1/2-Pt. Byes: Available for all rounds (limit two) – all 1/2-Pt. Byes must be requested before the close of registration. 0-Pt. Byes for any round may be requested at any time.
”Do Not Pair” option: Immediate family members may request to not be paired (Rds. 1 thru 4 only). Option must be requested before the close of registration.
