Open all scholastic players (K-12) from unrated to 1299.
SECTIONS and PRIZES: U600: Open to scholastic players under 600 and unrated. Trophies to 1st-3rd place (including all that tie for 3rd place). Medals to all finish with 50% or greater that don’t win a trophy. U1300: Open to scholastic players under 1300 and unrated. Trophies to 1st-3rd place (including all that tie for 3rd place). Medals to all finish with 50% or greater that don’t win a trophy.
Time Control: G/25; inc. 5; USCF dual rated (regular and quick). Entry Fee: $45.00 if pre-registered; $50.00 at the site. The field is limited to the first 40 registrants. Schedule: On-site registration ends at 9:40 am. All players, including pre-registrants, please check in by 9:45 am. Rounds: 10:00 am, 11:30 am, 12:45 pm, 2:00 pm 1/2-Pt. Byes: Available, limit two. Must request 1/2-point byes before round 1 begins. 0-point byes available at any time for any round.
Unrated players must obtain a USCF membership (from https://uschess.org). Please arrive early (by 9:30 AM) if you need assistance on-site.
All players’ official ratings will be used per the USCF rating supplement for the tournament month. Higher of USCF regular and quick rating will be used sections, pairings and prizes. Players may play up if rating within 100 points of the section requirement. Children may be dropped off at Chess Zone; please return by 2:15 PM to pick-up.
