5 Rounds “Swiss System” In Six Sections:
“Expert (FIDE-rated)” Section: (Open to USCF or FIDE-rated 1800 thru 2199) – 1 st - $500, 2 nd - $300
Class “A” Section: (Open to USCF-rated 1600 thru 1999) – 1 st - $475, 2 nd - $275
Class “B” Section: (Open to USCF-rated 1400 thru 1799) – 1 st - $450, 2 nd - $250
Class “C” Section: (Open to USCF-rated 1200 thru 1599) – 1 st - $425, 2 nd - $225
Class “D” Section: (Open to USCF-rated below 1400 and Unrated) – 1 st - $400, 2 nd - $200
Class “E” Section: (Open to USCF-rated below 1200 and Unrated)
Trophies to 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd , 4 th , 5 th , 6 th , and 7 th Places – Under 900, 1 st and 2 nd Places
(Classes “D” thru “Expert” entries only count towards the 85-player prize base)
(Class “D” thru “A” rated players may elect to “play up” in the next higher section)
(The “USCF Ratings Supplement” used to determine a player's “official published rating”
for competition will be the same as the month in which the tournament begins)
Entry Fee: $56 (3-day), $55 (2-day) if rec’d by 14-FEB; $60 at site. Unrated: $35. Class “E:” $30.
Re-entry: $40 (not available in “Expert” Section).
3-day schedule: Reg. ends FRI 7:00pm; Rds. FRI 7:30pm; SAT 2:30pm, 7:30pm; SUN 10am, 3:30pm.
2-day schedule: Reg. ends SAT 10am; Rds. 10:30am, then merges with 3-day schedule.
Time controls: “Expert” Section – “40/90, SD/30, d10” – All other sections – “G/120, d5”
All sections -- Two-day Schedule, Rd. 1 “G/90, d5” – (SAT 10:30am round is not “FIDE-rated”)
½ Pt. Byes: Available any round (limit two) -- must request before Round One (no changes afterwards)
