Registration

  • Participation in this tournament requires current USCF & GCA memberships. If you live in Georgia you must join the Georgia Chess Association to participate in this event. First renew/join if you are not current, then come back and register.
  • IM/GM/WIM/WGM play for free. Contact webteam@georgiachess.org for the code to register.
  • free to NM/FM if registered online by Feb 13th. Contact webteam@georgiachess.org for the code to register.
  • Non-Georgia Residents are not eligible to win trophies, but are eligible to win cash prizes. If you live in Georgia, you must choose GA resident and become a GCA member.

2015 Perdomo Class Championship
in honor of IM Carlos Perdomo

Please Note: Each player must play in his/her own class. Rating determined by March supplement. Rating will be verified and Section will be updated according to March supplement rating before the tournament.

Date: February 27 – March 1st or February 28 – March 1st, 2015.

Format:  5-SS, G/90 + 30s.

Prizes & Sections: $3,510 based on 90 paid entries, 65% Guaranteed
Premier (over 1999): $500-400-300; Under 2200: $225-150-100
Class A (1800-1999): $200-125-75
Class B (1600-1799): $200-125-75
Class C (1400-1599): $200-125-75
Class D (1200-1399): $200-125-75
Under 1200/Unrated: $100-75; Unrated: $60  

Rating determined by March supplement. Each player must play in his/her own class. 
Trophy to top Georgia resident each section, top under 2200 in Premier section. Note: Under 2200 is not a separate section. 

IM Carlos Perdomo is a top chess player in Georgia and runs many chess programs in Atlanta.

Entry fee:  $60 on-line by February 26. $70 on-site. Free entry to IM/GM/WIM/WGM.
NMs and FMs have free entry if registered at least 2 weeks prior to tournament (by Friday, Feb 13th).

Registration: Online registration deadline Feb. 26 (Thu) at www.georgiachess.org. Registration cap is 150.
Onsite registration: Feb 27 (Fri) 5:30-6:30pm for 3-day, Feb 28 (Sat) 8:30-9:30 am for 2-day. No re-entries.

Rounds:  3 day schedule: 2/27 (Fri): 7pm; 2/28 (Sat): 2pm, 7pm; 3/1 (Sun): 10am, 4pm. 
2 day schedule: 2/28 (Sat): 10am (G/90; d5), then merges with 3 day schedule. 

Simul with IM Carlos Perdomo: 3/1 (Sun), 2-3:45pm. Open to Class B and below. Free to tournament players; $25 for non-participants. Max 20 entries.

Byes: One 1/2 point bye available in rounds 1-4, zero point bye available round 5, must commit when entering, no changes after close of registration.

There are a few rooms reserved for chess players participating in the tournament.

Please note:  USCF membership required for all players. GCA membership required for GA residents.  Sets and boards supplied. Please bring clocks with incremental capacity. 

For any game-day changes, please email classchampionship@georgiachess.org or call: 678 400 9016 but please note that we are busy volunteering at the tournament and may not receive last minute changes in a timely manner.  All cancellations must be received via email prior to pairings being posted for the first round in order to receive a refund.
