Name: Creekside Open
On March 4, 2023, Creekside will host the Creekside Open at our West Campus,
2455 Mt Carmel Rd, Hampton, GA 30228
This will be a five-round tournament with an Open rated section, an under 1400 rated section, a U800 rated section, and an amateur(not USCF-rated) section. Sections may be combined or added at the TD's discretion on the day of. Prizes are based on 50 entries(b/50). Open section, 1st place $125, 2nd place $100, 3rd place $50, U1400 section 1st place $100, 2nd place $75, top U1000 $25. U800 Section 1st $75. Trophies to 1st place in the open and U1400 sections, trophies to the top three in the U800 section and the amateur section. The three USCF-rated sections are limited to 60 people in total. The amateur section is for people who are either new to chess or have not played in a while. Anyone of any age from any state is allowed to play in any section. Please bring equipment(boards and clocks). Schedule: Round 1 -- 8:30 am, Round 2 -- 10:15 am, Round 3 -- 12:45 pm, Round 4 -- 2:30 pm, Round 5 -- 4:15 pm. The time control is 45 minutes with no delay or increment. An email will be sent out the night before with more specific information.
Register for this event through ChessRegister (Click here to register). Half-point byes are available for rounds one through five, which must be requested before Round 1. Standings and pairings will be posted on the Creekside chess website on the day of. There will be onsite registration for this tournament (ends at 8:15 am on the day of), but there is no guarantee that there will still be a spot available in one of the rated sections. Entry costs $20 until 8:15 am on March 4th.
