Welcome to the Georgia Chess Association Library of books. Here you can download a list a books in the GCA Library and arrange to borrow volumes of interest for 30 days at a time. Please read the Library Agreement below.

The Library list is provided in Microsoft Excel, and is downloadable in three different ways:

Pick the one of your choice.

Library agreement is as follows:

GCA Library Information and Agreement

1. The library is available to all current GCA members. GCA membership must be current through the time items are scheduled to be returned (see item 5 below).

2. The library operates via email. The database is posted on www.georgiachess.org as a Microsoft Excel file. Requests for books should be emailed to the librarian at librarian@georgiachess.org. Cut and paste the entire line for the item(s) you are requesting. Don't have MS Excel? E-mail the librarian with your address and a hard copy will be mailed to you.

3. Requests are limited to either 4 items or 28 oz at a time. For example, you could check out one item that weighs 40 oz. or 4 items that weigh a total of 26 oz. The database lists the weight of each individual item.

4. Items will be shipped with return materials and postage included.

5. Checkout term is 30 days, meaning items must be back at the library on the 30th day as determined by both shipping and return postmarks. As soon as items are returned, you may make a request for new items, though they will not be shipped until the original items actually arrive back at the library. Overdue penalty: .25 cents/day.

6. Certain items will be flagged as particularly valuable. These items will require a fully refundable deposit (check or money order), listed in the appropriate column in the database. In case of loss or damage, the deposit will be used towards replacement.

7. Lost or stolen items: Penalty will be cost of replacement plus 10%. Note: The cover price listed in the database in most cases is not the replacement cost. It is listed for historical reference only. The more rare a book is, the more expensive the replacement cost will be. In case an exact replacement cannot be found, a suitable item, similar in price and subject, will be purchased at the sole discretion of the GCA librarian.

8. Until fines are paid, GCA membership is suspended, meaning Georgia Chess will not be mailed, nor can the member play in GCA events. The suspension term counts towards the one-year membership term.
