GCA will publish meeting times for any chess organization that meets in Georgia.
Organizations should notify webmaster@georgiachess.org to update information.
GCA would like to develop an affiliate program and support policy to strengthen clubs.
GCA needs volunteers that would be willing to help occasionally with nearby clubs.

We have a range of players from beginner-intermediate-and pretty dern good. 800 to 1900 for you rating lovers and a rating of any player depends on if they are drinking a beer with dinner and who is having coffee that night. :PThe vibe is in the title, "Chess Mess." We like chess, but we are laid back about it. We have former and current tournament players, but our favorite players are the ones that sit down and tell us they have never played and want to learn. Come have dinner, play chess, meet good people, drink beer, juice or coffee (we have a strict policy against drinking milk while playing, however sorry). Try to bring the "A" game or your "F" game. For whoever shows up, we have all kinds!

Monday, once at the Globe, head up the stairs to the left. Thursday, once in Tate, look for the chess sets between the Tate Theater and the stairs. You'll find that the chess players here in Athens are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. As soon as you walk up to the boards there will be people eager to meet you and introduce themselves. Everyone is welcome, and will quickly feel at home in the casual setting. While some players stoically focus on their games eager to improve their skills, others spend more time socializing than playing, and laughter abounds. The best part of playing chess is the social aspect, and at Classic City Chess you will find it in spades. Classic City Chess members also volunteer to coach local elementary schools and compete at chess tournaments on the national level.
