Open to: All USCF members. GA residents also require GCA membership. (Memberships available online and on-site).
Format: 5-Swiss System, in one large section similar to the US Open. All rounds are G/120; d5 except for 2-day round 1 is G/90; d5. Accelerated pairings used to the TDs discretion.
Players should expect greater mismatches than usual as in the case with truly open tournaments. (One section tournament with Class prizes).
Prizes:
Open: $600-300-175
Under 2200: $300-150-100
Under 2000: $300-150-100
Under 1800: $300-125-100
Under 1600: $200-100-50
Under 1400: $200-100-50
Under 1200: (not part of base) trophies to top 4, plus scores
Note: ratings taken from the October supplement will be used
when awarding prize money. A player can win only one prize.
One section: $3410 b/87 (2012 registration):
Trophy to 1st in each class.
Rounds: 7:00p, 2p-7p, 9a-3p. 2-day: Rd 1 at 9:00a, then merges with 3-day. GCA Q&A Meeting will be held at 2pm on 10/13.
Byes: One ½ point bye available in rounds 1-4. Zero point bye available in round 5. 2nd byes are also zero point byes. Players may play in declared bye rounds, but additional points do not count towards prizes.
Entry Fee: $50 online registration for all players with 1200+
rating. Deadline to register online is 10/9; $60 on-site.
U1200 players $25 for online registration. Deadline is 10/9.
