  • register here if you are an Emory Chess Club member, FIDE title player, USCF2300+ rated player, or and instructor who has already registered 3 players. you will need a code.

2013 Emory Campus Series I 

-a collaborative event with 

the Georgia Chess Association-


Registration is capped at 70 Players


   Emory Chess Club is starting a series of chess tournaments approximately every three weeks this semester for a total of 6 events, offering a series of lower-cost, yet sustainable events.  There will be a variety of blitz, one-day, and weekend formats.  


G/45 dates: 8/24, 10/5, 10/26, 12/7


Format:  4-SS, G/45; d/5, Rds 10-12-2-4


Prizes:   $630 guaranteed b/40. 70% payout


Sections: Championship (1800+): 100-75-55; U1800 85-65-45; U1400: 70-50-35; U1000: Trophies to 1st, 2nd, 3rd


*players may play up a section if published rating is within 100 points of that section* (current rating may be considered by the TD)


Entry:  $20 online before midnight August 21st, $25 at the door.  


On-site Registration: 8-9:30am (if not full). Registration ends 9:30 AM sharp. Late registrants may be forced to take a 1st round bye.  1st Rd 10 am 

Free to FIDE-titles players, and USCF 2300+ with advance registration, EF deducted from prize. Free entry to pre-registered Emory Chess Club (ECC) members.  ECC Members may be tasked to assist in the tournament by the ECC President. Free to Chess instructors that bring 3 students or more.  Must register students and pre-register to get free entry.  Contact ecc@georgiachess.org for the registration code.


Byes: 1 half-point bye available in any round, must declare before first round


Free Parking:   Fishburne Parking deck or Peavine Parking deck (Visitor’s sections).

Parents:  Minors and particularly children under the age of 13 are required to be under the supervision of a responsible adult for the duration of the event.  The TDs and organizers  do not count for this purpose.  Emory, the ECC, and the GCA are not responsible for unsupervised children.

 

Please note:    Current USCF membership required for all players. Sets and boards supplied. Please bring clocks.
