Registration

  • Use this form you're a Georgia resident playing Round 1 on Friday night (you'll need a current GCA membership).
  • Use this form you're a Georgia resident playing Round 1 Saturday morning (you'll need a current GCA membership).
  • Use this form if you are an unrated player living in Georgia (you'll need a current GCA & USCF membership).
  • Use this form if you are a GM or IM living in Georgia (you'll need a current GCA membership)
  • Use this form if you are not a Georgia resident and will play Round 1 on Friday
  • use this form if you are not a Georgia resident and you are playing Round 1 on Saturday
  • Use this form if you are unrated and do not reside in Georgia (you will need a current USCF membership, but not GCA membership).
  • Use this form if you are a GM or IM not residing in Georgia
  • Junior Georgia resident in U1200 section will not be eligible for prize money but may pay lower entry fee.
  • Junior non-resident in U1200 section will not be eligible for prize money but may pay lower entry fee.

Registration cap = 200

Format: Championship and U2000 section: 5-SS, G90+30s (2 day schedule round 1 G/90 d/5); $8000 Guaranteed, $10,000 b/124 full paid entries. Guaranteed prizes; All Championship and First places, others 50%. In 7 sections, 5-SS 

Time control: 
Championship: G90 +30s (2 day schedule Round 1 G/90, d/5)
All others: G/120 d/5 (2 day schedule Round 1 G/90, d/5)

Sections: Championship: FIDE-Rated with USCF rules, must be 1900 and above. U2000, U1800, U1600, U1400, U1200, Unrated. Rated players may play one section above current rating except for players rated under 1000 who may only play in 1200.

Championship: $1000-500-300-200; u2200: $400 u2050: $300
U2000: $700-300-200-100; u1900:$200
U1800: $700-300-200-100; u1700:$200
U1600: $700-300-200-100; u1500:$200
U1400: $600-300-200-100; u1300:$200
U1200: $600-300-200-100; u1000:$200
Unrated (not part of base; trophy to top player)
Trophies to top Georgia resident each section, top U2200 in Championship section (note: U2200 is not a separate section)

Entry Fee: $91 3day, $90 2day, if received by May 1. GMs & IMs free, $50 deducted from prize. Unrateds: $30.  Reentry except in Championship section $35.

Registration: 
On-site registration: 6-7 pm on May 3 or 8:30-9:30 am on May 4 cash & credit cards (no checks). On-line registration by May 1st.

Rounds: Rd 1 at 7:30 pm on Friday May 3 or 10 am on Saturday May 4. Then 2pm, 7:30pm on May 4 and 10am, 4pm on May 5.
Half point byes:, limit two, not 5th round, must request before 1st round.

Hotel: GCA recommends the Emory Conference Center at 1615 Clifton Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30322 (404) 712-6000. It would be a short drive to the tournament site. 

Meeting: GCA general membership meeting at 2:30 pm on Sunday, May 5. Elections for 2nd VP (Katie Hartley) will be held. 2nd Member-at-Large election between Thad Rogers and Tim Payne will be completed.

Please note: USCF membership required for all players. GCA membership required for Georgia residents. An Unrated (USCF) player who has a FIDE rating of 2000+ will be placed in
the Championship section.
