Female Empowerment Tournament

Saturday, November 11

 

Sutton Middle School – 6th Grade Academy

4360 Powers Ferry Rd, Atlanta, GA 30327

 

Open to any female player grade 12 and below - 50 player cap.

 

4SS, G/25/d5

Round Times:  10:00; ASAP after round 1

 

3 Sections: USCF membership required: U600, U1000 and Premier for players rated 1000 and above. Players may play up one section if within 100 points of the section. New and unrated players wishing to earn a rating should play in the Under 600 section.  Players with no USCF ID may play in the nonrated section.  Boards will be provided – clock are optional.

 

Entry Fee: $30 Advance entry only. Payments should be received by 11:59PM Thursday, November 9.  Limit of one ½ point bye available in any round and must be requested at registration. No changes after 9PM Nov. 10.

 

Register online at: Chess Girls Rook! *No onsite registration available* Current USCF ID#/Exp. date required to be paired for Rd. 1.  To withdraw, send an email to Suttonmschess@gmail.com  by 9PM Nov 10th for refund. There will be a $5 processing fee.

Trophies to top player of each section.   One team trophy, will be awarded to the school with the most points based on 5 players combined, in the 3 rated sections.  Points are earned by 1 point for each win in the U600 Section, 1.5 points for each win in the U1000 Section and 2 points for each win in the Premier Section. Teams must have at least 3 players to be eligible for a Team Trophy.  The Premier Section: 1st place possible cash award in addition to trophy.

 

Concessions will be available.

 

** This is our home and we would appreciate your assistance in keeping it clean. As such, this will be a Leave No Trace event.  In a nutshell, that means at the end of the event we should never know that a tournament was held.  Please monitor your space and dispose of trash and clean up spills.

 

**Be a good steward of the environment.  Carpool/rideshare where possible.
