Who: open to all Georgia students in grades K-8th with a USCF membership.


Sections: 9 Sections (one for each grade) K-8th grade.  Your child MUST register to play in his/her grade. 


Entry fee:  $30 (online only)


Registration for all: Online registration until midnight, Tuesday, November 10th. There is no on-site registration. Cancellations made by 8:00am Sunday receive full refund.

Format:

5 round, Rated, Swiss-Style tournament, 25 minutes per player with a 5 sec delay as the time control.  (G25/d5).

Sections may be combined if there are not enough players in one section.


Schedule: 10:00 - 11:30 -1:00 – 2:30 – 4:00


Byes: You may take up to 2 byes. Byes taken during rounds 1-4 are ½ point byes.  A bye taken in the 5th round is a zero point bye. (you may not take 2 byes in rounds 1-4 and one bye in round 5 – that is 3 byes even though the last round is zero pts).  NOTE: No byes changes after 9pm Saturday 11/14.


Prizes: Plus score trophies to all who score 3.0 or better, minimum 3 place trophies per section. Ribbons to all players. $100 stipend to 1st place winner of each section to attend the 2015 USCF National K-12 Grade Championships in Florida (Dec.4-6)*

Award ceremonies will be ASAP after last round ends. 1st round pairings will be posted by 9:15am.  No changes can be made after pairings are up for the first round.  It is the parent's responsibility to arrive early enough to verify that the information is correct or to have errors fixed before Round 1 begins.  We will post registration updates on the website but the FINAL registration list will be posted at the tournament.  Accelerated pairings may be used at the TD’s discretion.


Please note: USCF membership required. Sets and boards supplied. Bring your chess clock.  If one player brings a clock and requests its use both players must use the clock.

*1st place winners must attend National Grade Levels to receive the $100 stipend.


Note: photos may be taken of your child and published on our news site (esp winners with trophies).  Please contact us if you do not want your child's photo published.
